The Alphans blow up an asteroid on a collision course with the Moon, only to discover a large planet is following behind, also on a collision course. trying to use more nuclear charges between planet and Moon in an attempt to alter course. Yet the planet shows some signs of potential inhabitability, to which they could evacuate to the far side from the Moon's collision point and hope the planet can survive the hit. Koenig decides to take an exploratory mission, but a large alien ship appears and captures his. He meets Arra, Queen of Atheria, who has been "waiting a long time to meet" him, and whose people have been expecting the Alphans for "many millions of years." She prophesies a grand destiny for the Alphans, and "mutation" of her race to another form. For this to happen, Koenig must allow the Moon to collide with Atheria. Though with a little reservation, he accepts this; but he -- and an Alan whose mind was previously touched by Arra's -- are considered under the influence of radiation sickness, and confined.

Action takes place over approximately five days: Collision with Atheria is quoted at 105 hours, and this is at least a few hours after the episode starts.
The course alteration attempt is labeled Operation Shockwave. The existing Operation Exodus is considered -- though that name is not mentioned.
Planet is perhaps inhabitable, but somewhat on the cool side, at +10 to -30C as a typical range.
