Mentor
Summary
The father of
Maya, a widower, creator of
Psyche, he was one of two last
Psychons left on
Psychon, their homeworld --
the rest having died or left some years before.
Was capturing aliens so their mental energy could be
drained by Psyche in an attempt to restore the planet,
until one set of aliens, the
Alphans,
managed to convince Maya of Mentor's misdeeds.
She intervened and let the alien
commander destroy Psyche,
leading to Psychon's destruction.
Mentor chose to remain, and died
during the early stages of the final destruction of his world.

- According to Maya,
Mentor refused to leave the planet (during its decline)
in part because Maya's mother was buried there.
