Subject: Space1999: Calendar Controversy!

Hi!

I ordered my calendar from slowdazzle.com. Beforedoing so, I
checked out the preview images and to my dismay (but not totally
unexpected) saw too many (IMHO) pictures from Year 2. No offence to
Year Two fans, but I would rather have seen either an even split or
slight bias toward Year One.

Anyone else's thoughts? Has the calendar shipped? I don't think it
has since I'm sure we would have some reviews!

Hey...wait! That's it...after ExE, maybe can review merhandise
that we have! I don't have any myself, but for those that do, it would
be interesting to note what you have and how you like it. (Was this
suggested already?)

I wonder if that's because there are more publicity photos of Y2 than Y1 available? The Space:1999 phonecard is a Y2 photo. I haven't seen the calendar yet, I would expect to see it fairly soon though. > Hey...wait! That's it...after ExE, maybe can review merhandise > that we have! If we put pictures of our 1999 stuff on our websites so that people can see what we're talking about, it won't restrict the discussion to those who have the stuff. > Over 1000 people have visited: > http://www.gis.net/~anthonyd > Find out why before it's too late! I wonder if I'm looking at the same calendar because my first reaction upon seeing the website was that it was mainly all year one with only an occassional year two pic. Oh well. Either way it is better than no 1999 calendar at all.

OK...it wasn't a "complaint", just a comment. (well, I was complaining a little!). If you click on "image previews" you will see ALL the large images used for the calendar. If you click on "Sample Page", you will see the January 1999 page. This does show a scene from Year One. It also shows the pictures down the side from the first four episodes of the series. My assumption is that this will continue for each page of the calendar (12 * 4 = 48).

I turned down my screen resolution in an effort to see what each picture was, but the only ones I can ID are: - Koenig & Russell (Y2) - Koenig & Russell (Y1) - Um, a big grey swirly thing (Y?) - Koenig & Russell on Piri (Y1) - The Exiles (Y2) - Bergman, Russell and Koenig (Y1) - New Adam, New Eve? (Y2) - Alan (Y?) - No idea (Y?) - Koenig & Russell (Y1) - The thingy from Matter of Balance (Y2) - Something very dark and difficult to see - Somebody and Maya (Y2) Maybe some eagle-eyed user blessed with a better screen can enlighten us as to the missing scenes and then we can close this debate. Or maybe we'll get the calendar before then.

John and Helena (Y2) 2. John and Helena (Y1) from "Full Circle" 3. Spaceship graveyard on Psychon (Y2) "The Metamorph" 4. John and Helena on Piri (Y1) "Guardian of Piri" 5. John and Helena and Cantor on Golos (Y2) "The Exiles" 6. John, Victor and Helena in darkened passageway (Y1) "Mission of the Darians?" 7. UNKNOWN 8. Alan in pygamas (Y?) "Collision Course" or "Beta Cloud" 9. Three suited figures, one down (Y2) AB Chrysalis 10. John and Helena, publicity shot (Y1) 11. Thaed on Sunim (Y2) "A Matter of Balance" 12. Koenig at table of skeletons (Y1) "Testament of Arkadia" 13. Koenig with Maya in Command Center (Y2) Episode unknown That equals 5 (possibly 6) Y1 images and 6 (possibly 7) Y2 images. No so off balance as had been previously suggested.

Two spacesuited Alphans sitting inside an orange structure. Possibly from "AB Chrysalis" (Y2), but I'm not sure. >- Koenig & Russell (Y1) >- The thingy from Matter of Balance (Y2) >- Something very dark and difficult to see Very difficult indeed. Even brightening the image, I can only make out that it's Carter in the back, Koenig in front of him, staring at (or over) a low rock formation. They appear to be in Y1 clothing. >- Somebody and Maya (Y2) Koenig and Maya in Command Center. >Maybe some eagle-eyed user blessed with a better screen can enlighten us as >to the missing scenes and then we can close this debate. That makes 4 Y1s, 6 Y2s, and two uncertains. >Or maybe we'll get the calendar before then. HAS anyone gotten the calendar yet? What kind of delivery speed do they claim? It will be great to have a Space: 1999 calendar in 1999! ---- David Welle

So there, stop your quibbling and just ORDER IT!!!

Not sure what the other, of two spacesuited Alphans in an orange room, is from. >because he knows the guy who made up the calendar. So there, >stop your quibbling and just ORDER IT!!!
