Subject: Space1999: Smallest Nitpick? Trading Cards Update

Hi all!

I was watching an episode from Year 2 the other
day and noticed "the smallest nitpick"....can you
guess what it is? It is generic to the entire season
of Year 2....so it's not specific to one episode....one hint: it's
along the lines of the redesigned Eagle
(which effectively made the Year Two Eagle
completely incorrect to the exterior model) in that
something was "re-designed". This redesign might
actually pose a safety problem in real life! Think about
it and post your answer to the list!

Also, a while back I sent a message to the list
regarding new trading cards from Inkworks. In
case you are new or haven't sent in a note, please
read the following:

In the spirit of the "More Space:1999" campaign,
I am asking all Alphans near and far to send an
e-mail to Inkworks for a new set of Space:1999
trading cards to debut sometime next year. The
last I heard was that thier 1999 sets have not been
finalized, so we may have time!

     Send an e-mail to:

         inkwks@aol.com

If you need a snail mail address, please ask. I
can send it to you thru the list or privately. I don't
have it here (in work) with me.

The reason I have 'targeted' Inkworks is that they
are a relatively new trading card company. They
produce a very good quality card too. If you have
seen the Lost in Space set they did last year, you
will know what I mean. They also have done a
wonderful series of cards (3 sets) on James Bond
with another set to be released this month. I'm
really excited by their work! (can you tell? :)

Thanks!

And let's hope for the best.....Anthony

ps: is anyone else on the list into non-sport trading
cards? Please contact me privately...thanks.

Trading Cards Update Are you referring to the missing connecting corridor between the passenger module and the cockpit? It has actually been discussed on the list just recently. Really silly move that one. Mateo

Trading Cards Update When talking about the differences between Year One and Year Two Eagles, yes, the missing corridor is what I was referring to. BUT, it is *not* the nitpick that I was looking for in my original post! This nitpick is similar to the Eagle change.....but it's a lot more subtle.... Keep on guessing...you're all gonna groan when you figure out the answer!!!! (you may even hate me, who knows? :-) Anthony ps: actually, my nitpick may have been already discussed on the list too....I just re-subscribed a week ago... if it has been discussed, then I apologize :-)

When you say "Redesigned" are you referring specifically to an aspect of the Eagles that was redesigned or are you using the incorrect internal/external structure as an example of the redesigned elements of Y2? I ask because I may be looking at the wrong thing if you are referring to something other than the Eagles. ...or is that going to give away too much if you start to state where the "redesign" is? The reference to the Eagle was just to point out that this nitpick is similar in that it is not episode specific but a change made throughout Year 2. I hope no one is going crazy over this...I was just wanted to have fun... I'll give you one hint that might give it all away ...it's a form of transportation...something changed from Year One to Year Two....(besides the Eagles). Anthony

Would that be the ONE set of doors instead of two doors between the cockpit and the corridor leading to the cargo module? Or perhaps the marked absence of a door set that would demarcate the cargo module and the corridor? I remember seeing that in 'All That Glisters'. PA

In Year Two the travel tubes have only one set of doors. In Year One, there was a set of outer and inner doors, similar to elevators. You would see them close at a slightly different rate, which I thought was kewl! This was gone in Year Two. [BIG GROAN] Well, I did say you might hate me for it! Hope you all had fun...now I'll go to sleep for a bit while I conjure up a fan fiction piece...maybe :) Anthony http://www.gis.net/~anthonyd
