Fungus in JTW
Intro
In
"Journey to Where",
Helena is suffering from an increasingly-worsening
respiratory illness she fears could be viral pneumonia,
on a primitive world which turns out to be
Earth
of some centuries before.
She notices some
fungus growing, and notes:
"Fungoids are the basis of the barmycin range of drugs
which were discovered just before we left Earth.
It's the only known cure for viral pneumonia."
